Just attended a fabulous wedding at Hacienda Zotoluca. It's about a 2 hour drive from Mexico City. The grounds, and the rooms are beautiful. There are many buildings on the grounds which can host a variety of functions and events. If you are looking for a terrific venue this should be on your list. Let's get to the shortcomings since we've already established the strengths. The rooms have new windows and doors that seal a little too well. If you don't open the doors to your room, all of the humidity from the bathroom and shower will gather and condensate on the glass. Essentially you need to open the windows and doors constantly to promote airflow. That also means people can look in while you're using the bathroom. I'm fine with that, but others may not be. The internet service is abysmal unless you're sitting by the main office. The guest room internet access has strong enough of a signal, that's connected to nothing on the backend. The only slow and usable service was right on top of the office. For as much as people are paying, this should be an easy upgrade. Food and beverage feels limited for no particular reason. There are no meat options for breakfast, and eggs are an additional cost. You can't take coffee back with you to your room. Overly restrictive and I don't know why. Security can be hit or miss. During events, there were staff always within sight and ready to take away your full drink as soon as you set it down. This is to keep you getting new drinks and running up the tabs of your host. Again, weird behavior for how much is being spent to rent the location. Also, we had a guest's phone get stolen off a dinner table. The location was tracked to where staff were packing up trucks and then the phone was turned off.

Was there for a tour and it is simply stunning. The level of thought and detail that went into every room clearly shows how the owner is committed to making the guests experience unforgettable. Would highly recommend a visit or stay at their hotel.
